Ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko may apply for registration as a President’s candidate in the elections 2015. However, the Central Election Commission will take the decision on her registration within the relevant legal realities, CEC chairman Mykhailo Okhendovsky said in interview with "Kommersant-Ukraine".

He noted that Tymoshenko may apply for registration as a President’s candidate "in the same way as any other citizen of Ukraine".

"There can be no discrimination," the chairman of the Central Election Commission said.

However, given the legal realities of today, Okhendovsky did not answer the question whether the CEC could register the former prime minister as a presidential candidate.

"The decision in each case is taken by the Commission as a collective body, not its individual members, including the chairman. It is inconsiderate to say whether the registration is possible or not, without seeing the documents," the official said.
