In January-August of this year, the volume of natural gas imports from Poland and Hungary to Ukraine amounted to 1.1 billion cubic meters while the predicted volume of imports from Europe, designed by the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine, was 2.5 billion cubic meters during a year, the press service of the Ukrtransgaz joint stock company reported.

"Since the beginning of 2013, the gas transportation system of Ukraine has received only 1.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Poland and Hungary. In August of 2013, it received 244.2 million cubic meters of natural gas from Europe," the statement said.

The Ukrtransgas also reminded that Ukraine has started getting gas from Poland since November 1, 2012 and from Hungary - April 1, 2013. Ukraine has begun to buy gas in the European Union countries since November of 2012.

The mechanism of reverse supplies is expected to be widely discussed on in Brussels, September 24, during the negotiations with participation of the experts and representatives of the companies that are participants of the gas market.

At the moment, the gas reverse is carried out through Poland and Hungary.
