President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych called on the government and the parliament to give special attention to the proper use of each hryvnia in the formation of the state budget for 2014.
"Special attention should be given to increase in transparency of public finances, improving targeted use of each budget hryvnia," he said, speaking in Parliament on the occasion of the opening of the third session of the Verkhovna Rada VII convocation, ForUm correspondent reports.
In addition, he stressed the need to effectively distribute social costs as well as increase funding for the regions.
The Head of State stressed that raising investment would be a powerful impetus for Ukraine's economic growth and contribute to the modernization of the economic complex of the country.
"I am confident that the government and MPs during the work on the budget 2014 should draw the right conclusions from the budget problems of this year," Yanukovych said.
