The National Bank of Ukraine has undertaken a number of tasks for the development of financial literacy in Ukraine since 2011, vice-governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Valery Prokhorenko said during presentation of results of the poll on the savings of Ukrainian citizens, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the financier, these objectives are implemented today with the participation of foreign experts. "In particular, we draft financial literacy development program for 5 years, for the period up to 2018, which involves activities in all regions and for all major social groups. Financial literacy is an important factor in the growth of non-cash payments, so in legalization of the economy as well," the banker said.

Prokhorenko noted that in 2012 the total amount of non-cash payments in the country almost doubled, and population gradually starts using them. "In addition, we observe increase in public confidence in the banking system and the national currency," the expert said.
