President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych chairs a meeting of the Council of Regions, during which issues relating to improving the state policy on local government and the social-economic development will be considered, the President’s press service informs.
At the beginning, the President said that today's meeting should identify directions and the concept of reform on self-government. "The executives, who will begin this work, should realize the significance of this reform for every citizen. This will be one of the major issues to influence the improvement of people's lives," Yanukovych said.
The President is convinced that timing and success of modernization, aimed at creating a modern, competitive Ukraine will depend from organization of this work.
