The issue of quality of Ukrainian roads is controlled by the government, vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul told a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, 20 specialized factories are now producing asphalt. "Another 80 are ready to start production at any moment, as soon as weather conditions improve," Vilkul assured.
Vice Prime Minister said that the "Ukravtodor" State Road Agency receives sufficient funding. "For example, in February we have allocated over 150 million UAH for the urgent works after winter," he said.
Vilkul added that the quality of roads, their repair in settlements is under control of local authorities, namely the mayors and administrations.
To improve the quality of the roads, in his opinion, it is necessary to apply modern technologies of special additives, including plastids, resistant to very high and very low temperatures.
