President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych believes it is not normal that some officials have been put under arrest in prison for one year already, but have not been sentenced yet.
In an interview with "Komersant-Ukraine", Yanukovych said he does not have a right to control prosecutors' action, but according to him, being imprisoned without a sentence is not normal. "I think we should change the Code of Criminal Procedure," he stated.
The president also informed that the new Code of Criminal Procedure would returned back to Ukraine soon from the Venice Commission, sent there for approval. "Most likely the parliament will consider the new Code this autumn session," Yanukovych concluded.
