A New Year tree decorted by President Viktor
Yushchenko has been sold at USD 3,000 at the Kyiv auction-ball "The
Ball of Presidential New Year Trees", press office of the president reported.
As the event initiators
planned, famous politicians decorated New Year trees according to
the concept chosen. After a short presentation, every fir-tree was put
for sale, and the funds received were sent for charity - one of the
orphan's homes in Chernivtsi region with 270 afflicted children.
The
President's New Year tree was decorated according to Ukrainian
traditions and was named 'Harmony'. The tree was bought by a politician and businessman from Donetsk, the leader of Donetsk "Our Ukraine" party Anton Klymenko.
