President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko considers that an initiative of the Party of Regions concerning referendum on Russian language status and NATO breaks the acting order of changes introduction in to the Constitution of Ukraine. He told journalists on Thursday in Makarov (Kyiv region), ForUm’s correspondent reports.
“To start such referendum means to break the acting order of changes introduction in to the Constitution of Ukraine,” the President said.
According to him, the essence of these initiatives is “political adventurism”.
He has expressed surprise that the Party of Regions holds such position and he has expressed pity that “the Prime Minister carries out such policy”.
Earlier, the Party of Regions has started a preparation for All-Ukrainian referendum on giving the Russian language the status of official language and on non-aligned status of Ukraine.
