Victor Yushchenko and his Latvian counterpart, Vairas Vīķes-Freibergas , are now presiding over Ukrainian-Latvian talks in Riga.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk, Emergency Minister Victor Baloha, Health Minister Yuriy Polyachenko, First Deputy Economy Minister Anatoly Maksyuta, and State Service Head Tymofiy Motrenko are present at the negotiations, the president press service reports.

They thanked Latvia for its willingness to support Ukraine'sEuro-Atlantic aspirations. The countries are expected to sign:

- Cooperation agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the Republic of Latvia in the field of information technologies;

- Cooperation agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the Republic of Latvia in the field of disaster prevention;

- Cooperation agreement on administrative reform and state service.
