Today, August 6, at 2.20 p.m., during repair works at the Stirol Concern plant in Horlivka, ammonia blowout killed five employees, the press service of the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office informs.
Currently, rescuers are working on the scene, examination of the scene is continuing. "Prosecutor of Horlivka Oleg Kolesnyk and the investigative team arrived at the scene. According to preliminary data, there was ammonia blowout. There is information about 5 dead employees. Data are specified," the prosecutor's office notes.
Criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 272 (Violation of safety rules related to high-risk operations) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine have been initiated in the accidents.
In addition, according to the State Emergency Service regional department press service, five other people were injured as a result of the accident.
