September 1, new excise stamps with better protection are introduced in Ukraine, incomes and fees minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Klymenko told a briefing after the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, new excise stamps will have greater protection from fraud: altered graphic design, new protective materials as well as additional details on alcoholic beverages, wine products, tobacco products with and without filter.
The minister noted that 10% of excisable products are subject to manipulation and fraud. Most often mark of excise tax for cigarettes without filter is glued on filter cigarettes. Also, the excise duty for wine products is used for drinks with a high content of alcohol.
"We understand the current challenges and make an "injection" to fight against such phenomena," the minister stressed.
