Ukraine and Turkey are negotiating upon provisions of draft agreement on the FTA establishment, the Ambassador of Ukraine in Turkey Serhiy Korsunsky told the journalists in Istanbul.
According to him, "the agreement itself is rather a framework document, a simple one. Virtually, its body is already agreed. However, it has the large annex. There are many industries where the Ukrainian-Turkish interests are intersected. Therefore, we should very carefully follow each commodity heading and "compare notes", say, on agriculture or machinery, textiles, household appliances industries."
According to the Ambassador, Kyiv and Ankara have already held four rounds of talks. The next round is scheduled for September.
At the same time Mr. Korsunsky said that there is no need to hurry with the establishment of the free trade area.
"This is not the case when everything must be done urgently. It is important to maintain the dynamics of this process' development," he said.
The Ambassador mentioned that the declared Ukrainian-Turkish strategic partnership proceeds with practical steps. According to him, in fall Ukraine expects the visit of the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
