Opening of the Regional Development Agency in Simferopol became an important step in fulfillment of the EU project "Support to Sustainable Regional Development in Ukraine," realized by the European Union jointly with the Cabinet, Jose Manual Pinto Teixeira, Head of the European Commission's Delegation to Ukraine stated at a ceremony of the Agency opening held on Wednesday, UKRINFORM reported.
He expressed confidence that this project will play a great role in attraction of investors, setting up new working places, raising social standards and stimulation of Crimean development as a whole.
In particular, now according to him, a group of experts is working in Crimea on preparation of several projects aimed at development of tourism and promotion of direct investments.
In addition, over nearest months, signature of an agreement is planned, within which EUR 5 million will be sent to Crimean depressive regions for infrastructure development.
