Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko forecasts the transfer to the contract army from January 1, 2009.
She stated at the meeting dedicated to questions on State budget preparation for 2009.
"Most likely, from January1, 2009 the 100% transfer to the contract army will take place," she said.
She addressed representatives of the Defense Ministry and the Finance Ministry with a request to take into account this position in order all necessary means to be clearly fixed in the budget.
