Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych believes that the introduction of a free trade area between Ukraine and the European Union will help Europe emerge from the economic crisis. He said this during the presentation of investment opportunities of Ukraine at the sixth World Economic Symposium in New York, the President’s press service informs.

"I am convinced that the accession of Ukraine's domestic market, its industrial and agricultural facilities to the European Economic Area will have a significant positive impact on the pan-European economic situation and will help Europe to emerge from the crisis," Yanukovych said.

According to him, the FTA with the EU will make Ukraine a part of the European market. "A key component of the agreement is to create a deep and comprehensive free trade area. This makes our country a part of the European market, so - will enhance its qualitative modernization," the President said.

According to the President, after the introduction of a free trade area with the EU, Ukraine will become more understandable and accessible to all partners and investors working with European Union member countries, as the national economy will henceforth operate under the same rules and standards.
