Currency exchange with the help of money-changers will be considered tax evasion, chairman of the NBU's Committee for the prevention of dishonest foreign exchange operations Yuriy Horshkov told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Citizens, who are going to change currency with the help of black money-changers, should pay attention to the fact that these actions will be regarded as tax evasion," he stressed.
According to him, before taking such a step, it is necessary to consult with a tax service what penalties could follow these actions.
Horshkov did not specify what measures will be used: administrative or criminal, but added that people will still be punished. "The punishment is to be determined by the relevant authorities," the representative of the NBU said.
At the same time, he added that the National Bank for its part will raise public awareness about the provisions of the new bill.
