During his working visit to Donetsk region, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych familiarized with the reconstruction of the melting shop "Donetskstal" - Steel Works".
General manager of the plant Oleksandr Ryzhenkov reported to the President on the progress of the reconstruction, which involves the installation of modern gas treatment plant and new electric arc furnace.
According to Ryzhenkov, the works conducted will not only reduce the cost of production, but also many times reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
The President was invited to the ceremonial opening of the renovated plant, which is scheduled for March 2013.
Yanukovych expressed his conviction that the upgrade will significantly improve the plant conditions for the workers. "If technology is modern, if production cost is good, there will be future," he said.
