At the XII Congress of the Party of Regions, held in Kyiv Saturday, the participating party "Strong Ukraine" headed by vice PM Serhiy Tihipko announced about its merge with the ruling party, ForUm learned from the press office of the Party of Regions.

In particular, "Strong Ukraine" declared suspension of its activities by way of voluntary dissolution and further merge with the Party of Regions through individual joining the Party of Regions by Strong Ukraine Party members.

"We, the participants of the XIII Congress of the Party of Regions, welcome the decision of the party "Strong Ukraine" on its reorganization by joining the Party of Regions. We welcome into our ranks active and targeted party members who are willing to join our common goal: building a strong, prosperous Ukraine!

We believe this unification process to be an important step in reforming the national political system and increasing its functional capacity, as well as its ability to effectively protect the public interest and to adequately meet the threats and challenges of the modern, globalized world," a resolution by the Congress of the Party of Regions reads.
