European choice remains Ukraine's strategic direction of civilization development, of strengthening the role and place of the country in today's competitive world, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said at a plenary session of the summit of "Eastern Partnership", ForUm correspondent reports from Vilnius.
According to the President, a forced pause in the process of concluding of the Association Agreement with the European Union does not mean the end of conduct of European integration reforms, much-needed for Ukraine.
The President stressed that Association Agreement with the EU is a detailed plan for the comprehensive modernization of Ukraine in accordance with European values and standards.
He noted that recently Ukraine has made considerable progress towards the necessary reforms. "We are determined to persistently continue this work," Yanukovych assured.
