At present, Ukraine has harvested 19.2 million tons of grain or 64% of the projected harvest this year, first deputy agrarian policy and food minister Ivan Bisiuk told press-conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"19 million 172 thousand tons of early grain and leguminous crops on the area of 6 million 854 thousand hectares with a yield of 28 quintals per hectare were harvested as of today," he said, noting that last year the yield was 21.3 quintals per hectare.

In particular, according to Bisiuk, Ukraine harvested almost 5.5 million tons of barley and 14.3 million tons of wheat. "We started collecting rye, oats. Pea is being collected. Thus, we collected 64% of the projected grain harvest," Bisiuk said.

The deputy minister said that the leaders of the grain collection are Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Kharkiv regions, which harvested more than 2 million tons of grain. In addition, Kirovograd and Poltava regions harvested 1.2 million tons each, Mykolayiv region - 1.8 million tons and Kherson region - 1.1 million tons.

Bisiuk also informed that corn, sunflowers, soybeans are in flowering phases and in a satisfactory condition. "Sugar beet enjoyed favorable weather conditions in June," Bisiuk added.
