During the telephone conversation with OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara announced that Ukraine is going to ensure the OSCE effective chairmanship in 2013.
Mr. Zannier congratulated Kozhara on his appointment as head of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.
During the conversation, the OSCE Secretary General stressed the readiness of the Secretariat and the OSCE executive structures to give comprehensive assistance to the future OSCE chairman, whose functions will be to carry out by the Foreign Minister of Ukraine during 2013.
In turn, Kozhara affirmed the Ukrainian priorities of the forthcoming OSCE chairmanship and the focus on the constructive work in order to promote the effective implementation by the tasks assigned to the chair.
The parties exchanged views on topical issues of the OSCE agenda, as well as on how to establish effective cooperation on the implementation of the OSCE priorities during Ukraine’s chairmanship.
As reported, Ukraine will chair the OSCE in 2013.
