The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine can not appoint reelections in a number of single-mandate constituencies, as it is required by the CEC, MP from the Party of Regions Volodymyr Oliynyk told reporters on the Parliament’s sidelines, ForUm correspondent reports.
"That decision taken yesterday does not comply with the Article 104 of the law on parliamentary elections, which states that Parliament shall not do that. Re-election can be appointed by the CEC only. The Parliament has no relation to appointment of reelections," Oliynyk said.
He also believes that the CEC did not use its own powers.
"The CEC did not make full use of its powers. It’s too early to talk about reelections," he said.
