The Cabinet of Ministers intends to encourage the construction of private houses, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said during his working trip to Ternopil region.
"Now the government plans to encourage the construction of cottages and private houses," he said.
According to Azarov, taking into account specificity of Ternopil region, individual housing construction will mainly develop there.
He said that while that currently citizens can benefit from the Affordable Housing program, designed for the apartments, but the government is considering the issue of private houses.
In 2011, the capital investment of population in individual residential housing totaled 15.103 billion hryvnia, in 2010 - 16.176 billion hryvnia.
The capital investment of population in the construction of own apartments in 2011 totaled 4.47 billion hryvnia, in 2010 - 4.654 billion hryvnia.
