Rospotrebnadzor considers it possible to renew supply of cheese to the Russian market by the fourth Ukrainian plant Dubnomoloko and continues an audit of products of other enterprises.

“The Russian sanitary service started the laboratory expertise of cheese samples, which came from the Ukrainian plant Prometey. Another plant Hadiachsyr promised to present cheese for the expertise,” Chief Sanitary Doctor of Russia Gennady Onishchenko has said, UKRINFORM reports.

According to experts, Ukrainian cheese kept a considerable part of the Russian market (about 17%) thanks to stability of consumer preferences of Russians and their inclination to traditional tastes. Purchasers choose the cheese of the type Russian, Dutch or Kostromskoi. Just this custom of consumers has automatically sent them to certain trade marks, allowing Ukrainian enterprises, supplying their products to Russia, to set a high price level for many years without fearing that this will scare away potential consumers.

According to analysts' forecasts, by results of 2012, the share of Ukrainian cheese on the Russian market will most likely reduce to 10%. It is noted that last year, out of 79,000 tons of Ukrainian cheese supplied abroad, about 65,000 tons were sold to Russians.

To remind, Rospotrebnadzor permitted supplies of cheese to Russia to four out of seven Ukrainian plants - LLC Hadiachsyr, JSC Pyriatyn Cheese Factory, PE Prometey of the Mensky branch and PJSC Dubnomoloko.

Over 60% of Ukrainian cheese supply to Russia fell on those enterprises.
