IBF/IBO/WBO world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko of Ukraine on Thursday cancelled his latest heavyweight boxing title world defense against British challenger Dereck Chisora, stating a torn abdominal muscle.

The bout against Chisora was scheduled to take place in Mannheim, Germany, on Saturday, December 11.

Doctor Sven Roessing, who treated Klitschko in a Mannheim hospital, said that the boxer would have to rest for around six weeks.

This is the first case in Klitschko's professional career when he had to cancel the bout due to an injury.
