In 2013, 191.636 million UAH have been allocated from the state budget to control retail prices for hypertension medicines, chief physician of the Health Ministry of Ukraine Vasyl Netyazhenko told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
He informed that the pilot project on state regulation of prices for medicines for the treatment of patients with arterial hypertension through partial reimbursement of the cost is implemented by the Health Ministry with the support of the President since last year.
"In turn, the Health Ministry identified a list of the relevant drugs and the ultimate level of wholesale selling and reference prices. 247 medicines of 7 formulas were included in the list. Retail price should not exceed 37.5% of the maximum wholesale and retail price," the doctor said.
he explained that the main objectives of the project is to provide the population with effective antihypertensive drugs, effective diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative care. "It is important to implement the scientific standardization of medical care in hypertension detection of patients in the early stages, in fact - active prevention of high blood pressure, which is necessary to raise the level of health education of citizens and promote a healthy lifestyle," the therapist noted.
