Electric heating system to prevent formation of icicles is planned to be experimentally installed at several houses in three districts of Kyiv this winter, deputy director of the KCSA housing and communal infrastructure department Volodymyr Bazhenov said during the meeting of the KCSA board, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Department proposes to determine two-three buildings in three districts - Holosiyivsky, Pechersky and Shevchenkivsky - and set electric heating system at them," he said.

According to Bazhenov, one complete set of equipment for heating of 100 m may cost 35 thousand UAH, however, the city really needs such a system.

He added that last winter 72 people were injured as a result of falling icicles, 35 of whom were hospitalized.
