Ukrainian enterprises must be ready to compete at a global level. For this, the country should create equal conditions for business development, president of the Kyiv School of Economics Pavlo Sheremeta said at a public debate on the role of the middle class in the development of the national economy.
"Current economic growth occurs not due to large enterprises, but thanks to small and medium businesses. We need preconditions for easy doing business for their development. In Doing Business favorable business environment ranking we jumped from 152nd point to 137th and only plan to get into the top one hundred. It will not help us. Ukraine should strive being closer to Georgia or Malaysia, closer to the top ten."
According to him, small and medium enterprises need competitive environment for development - it is the first task for the current government.
"The impetus should be given by the state. Large business may act as a financial donor. The national product should be proffered in equal, competitive conditions," the president of the Kyiv School of Economics added.
