There have been cases when MPs voted for their colleagues in the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Ukraine Mr. Pavol Hamžík has told online conference, held on ForUm, February 21.

"There have been two such cases, but, under the pressure from politicians and the press, those MPs admitted they had been wrong and gave up parliamentary mandates. In my opinion, it is right," the diplomat said.

According to him, the Slovakian Parliament procedure requires to vote personally. "I can not imagine anyone voting for the other, as then the question of the legitimacy of the passed laws arises," Mr. Hamžík summed up.
