On the Unity and Liberty Day of Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych laid flowers to the monuments to Taras Shevchenko and Mykhailo Hrushevsky, the President’s press service informs.
The ceremony was also attended by speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov, government officials, members of the clergy and the public.
After laying flowers, the head of state spoke to the clergy.
