In Ukraine, the number of entrepreneurs using simplified taxation system increased by 300 thousand to 1.3 million in 2012.
According to the Incomes and Fees Ministry press service, 1.3 million individuals and 148.7 thousand legal entities - entrepreneurs will pay single tax in the first quarter of 2013.
According to the experts of the Incomes and Fees Ministry, this increase was entirely predictable. "More than 200 taxpayers have become STS taxpayers due to the introduction of the 5th and 6th groups. In addition, the simplification of the single tax and reasonable payment rates have stimulated growth in the number of entrepreneurs," the Ministry’s press service noted.
According to the report, the second group of the STS taxpayers is the most popular group, embracing 721 thousand entrepreneurs, about 55% of the total number of STS taxpayers. The first group embraces 300 thousand taxpayers, the third - 250 thousand, 149 thousand entrepreneurs work within the fourth group.
The Ministry recalled that reduction of the tax rate for the 5th and 6th groups from 7% and 10% to 5% and 7% respectively was initiated by the Tax Service of Ukraine. In addition, restrictions on the number of employees will be lifted. The second group of taxpayers will give reports only once a year, not quarterly. The bill was passed by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on November 20, 2012.
