When traveling abroad Ukrainians often have problems with documents for children with Belarus and countries of the Western Europe, head of the border control and registration department of the State Border Service Oleksandr Binkovskiy told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"In 2013, 917 children have not been allowed to cross borders of Ukraine. In 2012, there were 2942 such children. The main reason is improperly drawn-up documents," he said.

"According to statistics, there are problems while entering Belarus and countries of the Western Europe," he stressed.

According to the State Border Service, if a child travels with the third persons, there must be a notarized parental consent.

In addition, the border guards pay particular attention to the peculiarities of departure of children, citizens of Ukraine, to the Russian Federation. In particular, children under 16 years old must have a birth certificate. With regard to travel to Belarus, it is necessary to have travel document of a child or inscribed information about children in the passport of the parents.

The State Border Service reminded that under the law, Ukrainian minors can leave the country with the travel document or if information about a child is entered in the passport of a parent.
