Three Ukrainians, one Russian and two citizens of India were kidnapped by pirates, who attacked Armada Century-managed offshore tug off Brass, Nigeria.
Malaysia-flagged offshore tug, Armada Tuah 101, was attacked and boarded by pirates. Pirates boarded the vessel and were reported to have kidnapped all foreign crew from the mixed foreign/Nigerian crew. The remaining crew was able to take the vessel to the port, Maritame Executive informs.
Nigerian security agencies have made no official statements on the incident involving the Armadah Tuah ship.
Lately, experts are seeing an increase in piracy off the coast of Nigeria. Four vessels were attacked during a 10-day period in this area.
