Kyiv's Pechersky District Court decided that testimony of the former major of the State Security Department Major Mykola Melnychenko and his recordings, made in the President's office, can not be evidence in case of murder of journalist Georgiy Gongadze.
This is stated in the verdict of the Kyiv's Pechersky District Court, which reads out the sentence to former chief of the external surveillance department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, Oleksiy Pukach, accused of abuse of power and murder of journalist Gongadze.
Kyiv's Pechersky District Court decided that testimony of Melnychenko and his recordings can not be proof in Pukach’s case as Melnychenko is not an employee, whose duties include operational and technical measures.
