Ukrainian legal persons are allowed to form public associations, advisor to the President of Ukraine, head of the Office for Constitutional and Legal Modernisation Affairs under the Administration of the President of Ukraine Maryna Stavniychuk told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The effective law of Ukraine on public associations gives legal entities the right to form public associations, individually or jointly with physical persons," she said.
According to her, this decision corresponds to the practice, which exists today in the European countries, as previously Ukraine was among the five states of the Council of Europe, where the legal persons are denied the right to form public associations.
Stavniychuk stressed that the law provides for lifting of territorial restrictions in the activities of public organizations. "Now the activities of the NGOs are spread throughout Ukraine. This could help them to unite and create certain public unions," representative of the Administration of the President of Ukraine summed up.
