The EU-Ukraine Association Agreement could be signed in 2013, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine Mr. Henryk Litwin said.

"Theoretically, it is possible," the diplomat said, when asked whether the agreement to be signed next year.

According to Litwin, the completion of the negotiation process concerning the Association Agreement suggests that both sides will are willing to complete the whole process, i.e. to sign and ratify the document.

"However, we should remember that there are many different political conditions that may stop or speed up the process," the Ambassador of Poland to Ukraine said.

According to Litwin, the signing could not occur automatically after positive election effects, i.e. start of full completion of the Parliament, including the opposition.

"However, the new Parliament is the element allowing the continuation of the EU-Ukraine dialogue, which sooner or later will lead to the signing of the document. Thus, the main thing now is to start a dialogue, after which it will be possible to assess the chances of signing the Association Agreement," Litwin said.
