As of September 28, the volume of grain exports from Ukraine amounted to 5.2 million tons, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food reported.
In particular, the country exported 2.4 million tons of wheat, 1.4 million tons of corn and 1.2 million tons of barley.
The Ministry expects that the current "export year will be tough in terms of the delivery pace of grain into foreign markets."
According to forecasts of the Ministry, in 2012, Ukraine will collect about 46 million tons of grain and will export 21-22 million tons for the season.
