At the end of May the State Statistics Service will approve the census schedule for holding All-Ukrainian population census, ForUm learned from deputy head of the State Statistics Natalia Vlasenko.
The current project enlists innovations, which were not included into the schedule of 201 population census, namely labour migration and living conditions of respondents.
"The population census was scheduled for 2012, but a decision has been made to postpone it to 2013. The best time for holding the population census is late autumn or winter, when people are coming home from vacations, seasonal works and from abroad," the official said.
Vlasenko specified that to hold the population census will cost about one billion hryvnias, which is not very big sum for such process. "We have calculated that we need more than one billion hryvnias, but this sum is not for one year, but for the whole period of preparation works till the publication of the results. The whole process will take about five years," she said.
