Yanukovych: Law enforcement bodies should be more effective in fighting corruption in land relations

President Viktor Yanukovych demands law enforcement agencies to work more effectively on combating corruption in the sphere of land relations, he said at today’s meeting on the occasion of Agriculture Worker’s Day.

"I demand law enforcement and other responsible bodies to take effective steps to address this shameful issue. It is necessary to create such a regulatory environment that would destroy shady schemes and was a prerequisite for the formation of an effective land market in Ukraine," he said, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.

Viktor Yanukovych stressed that corruption in this field eliminates competition and distorts price formation in agriculture.

The President stressed that bringing land relations out of the shadows is an important component of the effective functioning of land market.
