President Yushchenko is assured that the new President of Ukraine should focus on consolidation of Ukraine, he said at a press conference held at the Presidential Secretariat.
"The newly elected President must understand that his primary objective is to make decisions that consolidate Ukraine after the elections. It is important to unite the 7 regions on one side and 18 regions on the other", he said.
"The election results suggest that the first person in the country should understand the mission of consolidation, avoid usurpation of power, or its monopolization, including the executive branch", he added, urging to the party dialogue and compromise.
"We should get the President of Ukraine, not the President of Donbas. For this to happen the steps of the new President must be balanced", he said.
