Every day, about 14 Ukrainians are killed and 100 injured in traffic accidents, one-third of these people are pedestrians and cyclists, chairman of the Bureau of the World Health Organization in Ukraine Dorit Nitzan Kaluski told a press conference in Kyiv today.
"Every year, about 200 thousand accidents happen in Ukraine, in which 40 thousand people are injured and four thousand - killed," she said.
Chairman of the WHO Bureau also noted that, in general, one million 200 thousand people are killed in the world as a result of traffic accidents.
"This is the first cause of death among people aged from 11 to 29 years," she said.
