The child mortality rate has reduced in Ukraine, chief specialist on neonatology of the Ukrainian Health Ministry Yelyzaveta Shunko said during a round table "What is next for Ukrainian health care in 2013?", ForUm correspondent reports.
"If we consider the issue formally, then the infant mortality rate in Ukraine was 9.1 per mil in 2011, and it dropped to 8.5 per mil in 2012," she said, speaking about the benefits of perinatal centers in Ukraine.
According to her, this is a great result, and in the future it is expected to increase the quality of medical care for pregnant women and newborns.
