All Ukrainian regions hold the food fairs. Since the beginning of 2013, 4.445 food fairs have been held. Agrarian workers sold 36.000 tons of agricultural products and products after processing to the amount of 302.1 million UAH, UKRINFORM news agency reports.
The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry will continue to support holding of food fairs, which help satisfying demand of Ukrainians for foodstuffs, agrarian policy and food minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk noted.
The minister said that the largest number of fairs was held in Sumy region - 318, Dnipropetrovsk region - 280, Kyiv region - 226, Vinnytsia region - 232, Zhytomyr region - 228 and Volyn region - 228. The least number of fairs was held in Lviv, Kherson and Rivne regions.
He reminded that over the last year, 53.645 food fairs were held, where 422.600 tons of products were sold totaling 4.6 billion UAH.
Prysiazhniuk also stressed that similar events are profitable both for consumers and producers.
