Prime Minister Mykola Azarov criticized scientists for lack of breakthrough developments.

He said this at a meeting in Odessa with representatives of social and humanitarian spheres of local government bodies and local self-government.

The Prime Minister noted that for Ukraine it is very important to raise the level of domestic science to enter the market with the implementation of new technological developments.

"In this regard, we are, on the one hand, have developed scientific and technological base, and on the other hand, I ask the critical question employees of scientific institutions: where are our candidates for the Nobel Prize? Where are our breakthrough new developments?" Azarov said in Odesa.

He stressed that the government is ready to allocate funds for the development of scientific researches.

He urged scientists to give their suggestions and ideas, as the Cabinet is ready to provide funding for specific projects for 5-7 years.
