The Ministry of Emergency Situations is preparing for the new tender for the equipment and services procurement for the implementation of emergency care to the population on a single telephone number 112, the minister of emergency situations Viktor Baloga said in his interview, as ForUm learned from the Ministry press service.
"We have already received the world leaders' offers in this field. The new system operator will be determined. Now this project is almost ready and the MES is just obliged to implement. The system 112 is a few steps away from establishing," the official said.
The budget has sufficient funds for the system implementation, the minister added.
He noted that the agreement with the American company Hewlett-Packard was totally acceptable, but its implementation ran into several obstacles, mainly legal.
"Working in a fast pace, the refinements of registration and documentation procedures were not taken into account. These moments, as it turned out, are very important and we together with the Americans decided to deny the contract," Baloga said.
At the same time, the Minister noted that the MES has done a great practical work towards the creating of the system 112, so the adoption for every day use is a matter of time only.
