Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, at a meeting held in the Zavidovo residence on Saturday, discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, in particular, natural gas supplies to Ukraine, the press service of the Ukrainian president has reported.

"Significant progress was made during the negotiations, what gives a hope to achieve concrete results soon in the best interests of both countries," Yanukovych said.

In addition, during the meeting, the sides decided to hold the next meeting of the Ukrainian-Russian interstate commission in Ukraine in October 2011.

Kremlin also announced substantial progress with the gas agreements. "Certain agreements were made during yesterday's talks between Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych," Russian president's spokeswoman, Natalya Timakova said.
