Judge Rodion Kireyev of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has given
Yulia Tymoshenko’s new defense lawyer Yuriy Sukhov two days to review
the 5,000 page case file.
The decision was made by the judge after consideration of the petition by the defense to provide eight weeks to study the case. According to Sukhov, "for proper preparation for defense" 7 weeks are needed for reading materials and a week - for analysis. But the public prosecution said that all defenders of Yulia Tymoshenko had been given enough time to study the case materials.
After announcing the ruling the judge adjourned the trial until 10:00 on Thursday, August 4.
