President Viktor Yushchenko visited Ivan Franko School №51 in Lviv yesterday. During the visit President was familiarized with the process of independent testing for school-leavers, which was held yesterday in Ukraine and talked to the students, who took the testing. Minister of Science and Education Ivan Vakarchuk also visited to the school. President’s press office reports.
Making his comments on the independent testing for school-leavers in his interview with journalists, President Yushchenko emphasized that its introduction was aimed at fighting corruption in Ukrainian education.
“The testing is the answer how to sweep away corruption from the high school and to make the higher education available,” he said.
“Today is the big day. We hit the corruption in the high school,” the President added.
President Yushchenko greeted teachers and students, who took the testing on Ukrainian literature and language, and wished them further success in learning.
