State Veterinary Department of Ukraine prohibited import of animals, products and raw materials of animal origin from Siberia, Ural and Far-Eastern regions of Russian Federation in connection with dangerous foot-and-mouth disease.
According to data from Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the ban came into force from September 2.
RF Animal Health Research Institute confirmed that cattle fell sick with foot-and-mouth disease of “Asia-1” type.
Unfortunate and suspected regions were quarantined. Vaccination of the cattle is being carried out.
